Fact: Throughout the history of California, Native Peoples had their culture stolen from them. They were enslaved, indoctrinated into Christianity, and not allowed to carry out the sacred traditions of their people. Driving Question: How can we as anthropologists, preserve their history, traditions and culture, through written/oral story telling?
Project : Students will research a Native American Tribe from California. They will travel back in time to visit the tribe they researched and write a story about their adventures. Then they will share their stories orally as the Natives might have done.
